So it may appear that there is wear on the hair above the ear and on the eagles breast and neck feathers, when in fact it may be a weak strike. At least that's how I understand it. I have a slabbed O mm morgan that is weakly struck, as well as a CC GSA and the hair above the ear and the back part of the ear are where it is obvious. You can still see the remnants of detail in the hair above the ear on this coin, and the ear itself looks fairly normal, where on a weak strike they are flat, so I am 99% sure it is wear.
