Checked my bank statement online today. Whoa, have a lot more funds than I should. Uh oh, the increased amount is what I paid for 3 of the 2023 Gold American Liberty coins last week. I got a confirmation on the day of the release. Monies were debited from my bank account that day. Now, the debit is gone. The order is still showing in my mint account. I notice that as of 9 a.m. this morning the coin is once again available for purchase. I don't really potentially want 6 of them, but to be safe I order 3 coins again. This time my order is rejected (perhaps because I have exceeded the 3 coin household limit?). I call the mint. They assure my order is in place and waiting to be shipped (they really like to apologize a lot I notice). I'm thinking maybe the mint releases the funds back to your account if they haven't delivered in a week? This ever happen to anyone else? I've been around for almost 73 years and I've learned the axiom "if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong" is very true. I guess worse comes to worse I'll have an extra $8,600.

Well, now I'm showing my rejected order from this morning as confirmed. I guess I have $15,000 invested in 2023 American Gold Liberty coins. Yeez.

What you saw on your debit card that day was a hold (same applies to a credit card). Those will expire after a few days if the transaction is not completed (invoiced and closed out by the Mint). I have had it happen to me a few times. The charge will officially be debited when they finally "ship" (invoice) the order and close out the batch of transactions for that day.

I figured it might be something like that. I wonder why the nice lady at the mint couldn't tell me that.

The call center folks probably don't know everything about the billing part of the orders..

I called the nice lady back and got one of the orders cancelled.

Another Great Topic, I Did Not make the Leap for The Gold, This Year. I Really think the Design is Quite Awesome, Actually, in The Silver, It is Spectacular.  I can Only Imagine How The Gold would be, In Hand, Best Wishes,
