Hi everyone, I recently found a quite a few consecutive serial numbers among a stack of 1 USD bills ive kept around here at home. Me being from a country in europe that don't really use USD, ive just kept them around because I find the 1 USD bill quite beautiful to look at.

Ive noticed that there is quite a lot of consecutive serial numbers among these bills, which I find rather cool because somehow all of these ended up with me, yet there is no actual use for them here in this country. (Other than you know, to exhange them to my countrys native currency and vice versa)

ill post them here in this thread, would be nice to hear your input if its actually worth collecting somehow, or if its just a coolish coincident.
Oh and don't mind the coins, just some left over 1 turkish Lira coins I have from my vacation over in turkey. Couldnt manage to exchange this when I came back home, because you know.. inflation and whatnot..

Thank you.

Generally speaking, consdecutive numbering does not add to the value of US currency notes.

Welcome to CCF.
Most modern US currency is distributed in packs of consecutively serial numbered notes. This is normal and not special.

I agree with Coinfrog and SteveinTampa in that finding consecutive bills is not uncommon since you can get consecutive bills at any bank until they start changing that shortly, however they can be valuable if they also fit into another category where the bill itself has added value. In other words finding a bill that by itself has added value over face especially an older bill that has some demand for it and then finding consecutive bills can amplify the premium especially in uncirculated conditions. Maybe also when some of the bills have some type of fancy serial number or error on them but not all in the sequence.

Though new notes are distributed to US banks in consecutive serial number order, they are quickly randomly mixed into circulation. It takes me about 50 visits to a US bank before I can find one with new, consecutive notes. Having consecutive notes in your collection basically proves the notes have never circulated.

It appears yours have curled a bit. Storing them flat in a book or similar will return them to their preferred uncurled condition, but it might take a few years of such storage.

Collectors also prefer notes with the design well centered on both sides. If you keep only a few of those notes, choose ones that have like-sized outside margins around all sides of the design.
