I have been thinking about buying somethings From the RCM! I was just wondering what you guys buy from them? Do you guys get every silver dollar they offer? They seem to offer a lot Do you guys stick with just proof or uncirculated sets? I would like to know what you guys collect from there I buy proof and uncirculated sets from the US Mint and I usually buy a commemorative and the silver dollar. Looks like you guys have some really low minted coins also

I don't really buy anything specific from the Canadian Mint, and not often either. I might buy two-three items in a year, and it will only be for items which I find really interesting, and with a low mintage. My last purchase was the 20th anniversary Silver Maple: Mintage 10,000.

I used to purchase RCM items, until they went bonkers selling anything and everything! I haven't made a purchase from them in at least 10 years and am still selling what I do have.

The last time I bought something from the RCM was over 20 years ago and I was not impressed by the customer service. I had ordered a gold coin and four weeks later it had not arrived. I sent letters and called many times, but no-one ever replied back.

Finally, I gave them an ultimatum by registered mail and threatened to take them to small claims court. They did send a replacement coin before my deadline and told me the previous one was sent by registered mail and they don't know where it disappeared. I spoke to a friend about this at the RCM and he said shipments from the RCM were stolen often within the mail system back then, even when registered.

I like some of the Proof sets that come out. Such as the 2009 issue, which to me is a very nice set. I also like the recent Specimen sets. Production quality has improved substantially in recent years, and the 2009 set is very nice as well. A $1 coins such as the 2009 100th anniversary for the Montreal Canadiens is a reasonable buy, and its value should hold up well with a mintage of 15,000.

I buy one or 2 commerative $1 coins to add to my silver dollar collection. I got them all either than a 1948, and the queen Mom.
I also faithfully buy the proof-like sets, as I hve them all since 1960, in an official RCM proof-like set wallet.
Thats all I buy..I do get things in the mail from them, with promotional codes that allow me free shipping if need be.

R.C.M.?, I used to faithfully purchase an uncirculated set and a proof silver dollar of each year. Then I started buying the colourized coins, however, seeing what the Mint has been putting out in the past 5 years has totally turned me off from collecting any more R.C.M. coins.
Therefore, I've sold off all my R.C.M. coins and reverted to collecting ONLY Canadian business strikes of all six decimals (1c-$1.00) between the years 1858-1967. OOOOOOOOOOOOO what a rush!
