Hello,
My name is ColoradoCoins. Today I come to your community with questions pertaining to a recent purchase I made of a 2007 Comm. 2007 Jamestown 1/4oz Au coin. I had the choice between a Bullion coin or this Jamestown and made a snap decision to snag this instead. My knowledge is in Silver Bullion and Silver Coinage, but I want to start adding Gold into my Stack/Collection and fear I have made a bad decision. Can anyone tell me if this coin is worth more in melt, than it is in collector value? I see them on ebay for $550-$650 all day but they arent selling. (I understand theres a difference between "ask and "sell) Did I make the right choice?

I look forward to having many more conversations covering many more topics!

-Thanks,
Coins

What did you pay for it? If around $500 you should be fine. I don't have any myself, but that seems to be a fair price for them.

If you bought it for close to the gold value, I think you made an extremely smart decision. Right now gold commeratives are not in favor, but who knows a few years from now. Perhaps collector interest will increase and thus the premium above the gold value (and a bullion coin).
