Looks promising, at least MS-64 --- but the pics leave me a little uneasy.
I'm sure it is just the exposure and the low-res copy for this board, but that orange peel surface effect raises a flag. I would definitely weigh this coin.

Obverse has been worked over pretty heavily. Extremely unnatural.

I think the angle and lighting of the photos was purposely done in an attempt to hide flaws.
This coin seems to have issues, waiting for better pics.

I don't see any obvious problems with this coin, other than some scratches that may be from staples. Beyond the obvious, it looks like it may have been rubbed/smoothed here and there on the obv. I'm in the 63-64 possibly Det camp. Quote:

Sounds plausible, and the second set of pics, while still impaired by weird lighting, are somewhat reassuring. I'm also now pretty sure those marks on the obverse are from a casino coin counter. |

That said, cool piece that is 137 years old. |

lots of glare. not sure of the surfaces entirely. without better photos at best MS63. not sure what folks are seeing to detail this coin  Edited by panzaldi

Still not a fan of the marks in front of the bridge of the nose. If we're calling it straight grade, MS62. Please note that the "orange peel" effect is not the reason for my grade and possible details; the marks and abrasions elsewhere are.
While I greatly respect Bump111 and psuman's opinions, I must disagree at least partially with the assertion that this coin's appearance can be explained as being caused solely by die wear apart from the orange peel surfaces. There are extensive marks in front of the face and on the cheek, a contact mark left of the chin, marks behind the cap and in the right reverse field between the eagle's left wing and the wreath branch. Although there are some signs of die polishing (lower hair curls, left neck-wing gap, wing-body gaps, wing feathers) other indicators of die wear such as flowlines, weak denticles, tracing, and pitting are not readily apparent in the provided photos.
