Back in 2007 my wife's father whose health was failing came to stay with us. He had some coins he showed me that intrigued me. Not really into coins back then but I thought it would be fun to go exploring. He had about 90 Morgans and Peace dollars. In the bunch was a dirty looking Morgan that was the most worn of the bunch. When I looked up the value for that date and mintmark I about fell over! 1889 CC. A few years later I convinced my wife to send the coin in to be graded and authenticated. Here she is. Think reverse carries it to VF20. The story is as nice as the coin!

you guys are pretty close on your guesses for sure. I was pleasantly surprised this was graded vf-25

What a beautiful coin jerryc39!I don't think it's a VF-20,a VF-20 has much more wear on the tops of the reverse wings.It looks more VF-25 or even a VF-30.The value jumps substantially every grade higher. The date and the CC all check out authentic. Awesome!!!

I'm going to say a conservative VF25. rev is closer to 30 there is one issue that could details the coin that no one called out. it looks like someone did something to the left cotton ball like they took a knife and carved out a diamond. since this appears to be intentional a TPG most likely wont this pass
