Hello all, I came across this 1910 Lincoln Wheat cent in an (advertised as unsearched) estate roll with a few features which I'm hoping to better understand. First, it weighs 2.87 grams. Second, the planchet is a tiny bit thin compared to norm. Third, the color and luster as you'll see in the photos. It's a really old coin so I assume there will be wear. Still, I wanted to get opinions before I file it away as just a really old penny. Thanks!

It's showing heavy circulation wear and it might have been dipped in acid at some point. That would explain the loss of weight and the thinness of the coin. PMD.

I am thinking it was a once buried coin in acidic soil.

Yes, much circulation wear and likely exposed to a corrosive environment. May have been cleaned at some point in the past--not recent.
