Alright family I bought this coin from a collection and it was stabbed and certified back in 1976 as silver. I have the certificate. It is a type 2 and I noticed no mint mark. I've read many different things and now I've confused myself. Lol Is this the spivack coins sister or have I missed something. As to the question about weight and reading its in a slab guy's, um breaking that open would compromise the quality To John yes it's in a bradford slab AND CERTIFICATION As far as cracking the slab imma leave that up you family should I bust it out the B and send it to PCGS for proper grading Edited by CitizenZero 09/01/2023 1:30 pm

All 40% silver 1776-1976 Ikes were Variety (Type) 1, not Variety 2. My guess is if it passes the tissue test, it is plated. Weight will confirm.

It's not silver. The "COA" means "silver dollar" in the generic sense, people call Ikes "silver dollars" all the time but it's not literal. Note the actual "slab" says absolutely nothing about silver. This is just more overpriced garbage for the Bradford "Mint."

Ayyye Bobby boy when I get home shortly ill post the actual certificate for this specific coin that's says this coin is 99.9% silver used in its composition as far as whether it's 80 or 40 percent of the coin is silver I'll get right back to you

You mean the COA you posted is for something else?
FYI, It's wrong if it says that, unless it's plated. If it's plated, it's just a damaged coin now.

Please explain? DAMAGED? the picture I posted wasn't the COA just the letter stating it was a silver bicentennial. I bought it because it was silver bought from the mint in a silver set. If it's not silver Bradford has some explaining to do. I know all the tricks and this was not a replated coin or copy its from a set that was done as silver for collectors not the bag coins for the casinos....... but give me a few and we will know for sure. If your right Bobby then bradford is selling me nickle as silver and there are clad sets for sell but I bought silver...... hmmmm now you got me wanting to bust the slab open

Any coins plated after the mint are damaged. There were no silver plated Ikes at the mint.

There's a reason this doesn't say silver on it.....
