Yesterday I learned that Large US notes have lots of value! Even in raw. Well I knew that they had value, but selling them reinforced that.

I recently listed a few duplicates of my large sized US notes, my coin shop sight unseen offered me $700 which I thought was low as the minimum I could get on ebay was $1100/1200. I really wanted $850 to $900.

I decided to shop the notes around, another local coin shop offered me $850. But after looking at the notes, I didn't want to sell 1 of the notes, so I went back to my coin shop. I asked for $745 and a discount on a 1908 $5 Gold coin.

He checked ebay for notes sold on the ones I wanted to sell, he agreed for $745. After selling them, I made a little profit (not much about $100, but he needs to make a profit and I got a $50 discount on the gold coin). I also didn't want to sell individually, so the deal really worked out for me.

I also learned that I like shiny coins. Not bad for 5 large us notes and $20 Hawaii note.

And my first pre 1933 Gold coin.

This one I still need an upgrade, but I had 2 so I sold the one that I liked less.
