Mint mark positions varied, since they use to be punched in by hand, on the dies. Pretty cool example.

Agree--back then mint marks were manually placed. As such, mint mark positions can vary some--and they do.

nice find on this 'close call' - if the MM were touching the date, then we would be seeing something out of the normal.
