Please provide your thoughts on this 1999 D Jefferson nickel with a crack on the reverse. Is it caused by mint or PMD? There is some damage to the rim where the crack is. Thanks.

The rim shows evidence of mechanical damage. I wonder if the crack through the letters aren't from that same event.
