There is no simple answer to this. Copper can take on almost any color of the rainbow in different environmental conditions.

That is a good question. According to the interwebs, it looks like a mixture of equal parts vinegar and salt will do this, but I imagine the are a bazillion other ways too.

Environmental toning, yes--exposure over time. The coin didn't leave the striking chamber with that coloration/tint.

When it came out of the mint, it would have been bright and shiny, afterwards, the copper will take on many different colors or tones due to the environment it was in.

One thing that I have noticed is after giving a copper coin an acetone bath I will sometimes see those bluish colors you are seeing I'm not saying that is how your coin got the color it has but an observation on my copper wheat cents

Any number of factors could have effected the toning, but it may have made a trip through the wash in a someone's pocket. I've read that laundry detergent can cause copper to tone in some light pastel shades.
