AU58. Nice strike. Luster seems a little impaired/missing in the obverse.

A typical 25 with great hair detail. Luster is modestly impaired. If those flat spots are wear it's AU58, but it is always difficult to tell. One of the most difficult coins to grade precisely and consistently. It might well make MS62..

i agree w/pristine about being difficult to grade especially using photos. your photos have too much glare. don't use overhead light to avoid this.. it tends to obscure the surfaces. you don't need that much light. we need to see what the coin looks like in hand. the lighting is making the luster look broken across the cheek which affects grade and its also not giving us a good at that reverse staining or toning (not sure which)

I'm w/pristine without better photos AU58 or MS62

Ok, bear with me, I have not yet mastered taking pictures of shiny coins. Those first images were on the windowsill during a cloudy day. Normally that works well for circulated nickels. Here are four pairs of pics: table away from the window, angled on the table, angled and turned 90 degrees, table with an object blocking the window light. Are any of these better?

Wow, that's great to hear! She has been in my collection for almost 30 years, and is probably the nicest silver dollar that I own. Thanks for the help, guys. =)

I did check the three listed VAM varieties—although my skills there are somewhat limited—and she does not appear to be any of the three listed for 1925.

photos are better. i'll say MS63 maybe 64. the one angle shot of the obv shows luster across the cheek and some minor rub so 64 would not surprise me
