This series was authorized by Public Law 102-281 and signed by President George H. Bush on May 13,1992 to commemorate James Madison and the Bill of Rights.

Coinage was available
individually (I have the Silver Proof Half Dollar),
2-coin sets - proof (I have one of these) and uncirculated,
3-coin sets (like the 2-coin but includes a $5 half Eagle) and
6-coin sets (all 3 coins in both proof and uncirculated)

Proof Mintage:
Dollar: 534,001
Half Dollar: 586,315
Half Eagle: 76,651

Commems shout out: http://goccf.com/t/402358 - Good discussion of the date of release.
There is no clad half dollar in the issue. Commems write-up addresses this, too.

Designers:
Dollar - Wm. J. Krawczewicz (Obv) and Dean McMullen (Rev)
Half Dollar - T. James Ferrell (Obv) and Dean mcMullen (Rev)

First up, 2-coin set

The next image if from my single coin set. Seems to have faired a bit better, less fogging.

Excellent write-up and beautiful coins, mike! It's a shame about the fogging.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
