This is a well-worn coin but always happy to pick up another rotated die. This one was in a bag of low grade nickels I bought. The rotated dies census lists this one as R6, so it's known but still pretty rare.

Thanks! And I don't know how they could come up with rarity ratings but they all have them. Don't know anyone that's seen enough of these to have an idea of how many might be out there. But the rotated dies census page is super useful and lists a ton of dies across many denominations. A lot of research went into it.

I find it difficult to believe an R6 designation for this or any die rotation. That means less than 30 exist. Would a mint worker notice that the die was rotated in the press after only 30 coins? I can see where only 30 are known, but most people probably wouldn't notice it if it was in their collection.
