You can try a commercial product like Nic-a-Date, available on Amazon for about $15.

It's not worth the $15 to attempt restoring the date on these nickels. Unless you're just curious.

Vinegar and a little bit of salt. You'll be able to read the date tomorrow. It will make the nickel look funky but a dateless buff isn't worth much.
