Hello all,
I started in coin collecting way back when I was a kid, with my father and uncle providing specimens from their pocket change - and my uncle even provided a 1909 VDB
Wheat penny.
Of course the kid set collecting aside in time, but always remained interested. Marriage and children and owning our home all got in the way, and now that I'm well into my retirement, I am starting up again.
My wife & I have always been pocket change collectors, collecting almost the entire US States quarters collection by that method. We still have some giant jars of change to go through, as we attempt to settle on what areas we would like to focus on in
US coins.
Anyway, I remain a novice, pretty much unknowledgeable about grading, and especially detecting possible error coins.
I am a relatively new member of the
ANA, but their forum is pretty useless, so I come here looking for a good place to be able to ask questions that will be pretty basic and novice level to you all.
Thanks in advance for all your patience and support!
