There's some whitish-greenish substance along the profile. It's also in the lettering and around some of the stars. It's not on the reverse. Is it natural or man-made?

I very much suspect this is a little bit of the copper reacting with a little bit of moisture from a bygone era after this coin was minted and left this film of material behind...

As to grade, I estimate from the photos an XF-45ish to my eyes , but that white stuff is not heavy or bad enough to details this coin.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was post-mint. I was afraid it might be residue from a cleaning agent.

You could try using Verdi-Care to see if it helps in removing it.
