The 1982 sm date has an error where they used the normal 1982 planchets (copper planchets instead of zinc) so with that in mind is it possible that there are normal 1982 cents that accidently used zinc planchets as well?

The 1982's both had copper planchets and zinc planchets. Some were copper, some were zinc. The rare one is the 1982 D Small Date copper planchet.

Right...but is there also some struck on the wrong planchet for the normal 1982? The normal 1982 was struck for awhile and during that same year they switched to zinc. In that process we got the transitional error for the small date, so I thought the same may be true for the normal date also

I think what you are asking is about what would be called the large date 1982 which they used both copper and zinc planchettes .

No, all varieties are perfectly normal and extremely common except the copper 1982 D small date.

The large date and the Small date cents are all normal on both copper and zinc - Denver just didn't mint very many Small date copper coins that year.
