According to ebay's data, someone paid over $1900 for one of these coins shortly after the official release date. I find it interesting that the highest prices paid at the time were ALL paid to ebay sellers who had not sold many items previously (according to ebay's data). Some people have suggested that ebay might be a platform for laundering money...can't help but wonder.

The earliest sale that I could see was more than three weeks before the official release - could have been a pre-sale but the seller is very experienced so probably was confident of getting the coin to sell. Just wonder what connections to the supplier exist there?

At release the coins (recommended retail price $30) were selling on ebay for around the $200 mark and now one month later, selling for around $90. Fairly large drop in price in one month. I wonder if this is an indicator of what the market will be like for future releases of 'junk' coins? It will be interesting to see how the Bathurst and latest AC/DC coins go.

I still think RAM are manipulating releases to create a market for 'junk' coins in readiness for the cashless society. I guess time will tell.

Yes Sally, lots of scams on ebay,STBO but extreme buyer, and seller these days, beware.
The guy that was selling non-existant lap tops a few years back in Sydney built up his FB score with hundreds of small,a few $, coin purchases.

I feel the Bathurst Coin ebay value will collapse before Xmas but have been wrong before.

What is it with coins on ebay? While RAM was selling Bathurst junk coins for $15, ebay buyers were paying around $70 for the same coin?...

One ebay seller has listed a $5 heritage coin 5 times in a row now. Each time the auction closes they renege on the deal and re-list it! They are only getting 'winning' bids of around $70-80 each time so not likely to get the $200 that was achieved at release. ebay don't seem to care about it as it keeps happening.

ebay is nuts....
