Yes, it is a loonie. Yes, it's dated 2012.
No, it doesn't appear to be double-struck. I'm not seeing any doubling on any of the coin's design elements, and your pictures are plenty good enough that we'd see it if it was there.
The "two tones" are just environmental staining - it to have been sitting in some kind of liquid that's caused it to look like that. I don't know for sure what would happen if you spilled coffee on a loonie and just let it dry there for a couple of months and then tried to clean it up a bit so you could spend it, but I suspect it might look something like this.
I don;t see anything that would make it worth anything more than face value, sorry. Not every "odd looking coin" is valuable; some odd-looking coins are just damaged coins.
