Can anybody offer background on these. My dad bought one back in the day and it sat in a trunk until,I cracked it last year.
The silver coins have started turning black with some gold tone.
They look like there just average circulation strike coins.

I'll post pics of the quarter and half under separate threads as they have some interesting issues.

Hello,

These look like regular US circulating coins from 1964 (albeit in nice condition) placed in a souvenir holder by a third party.

yep, McStone explained it quite well - but STILL a nice set of silver coins (and the nickel and cent)
