Looks like a filled mint mark or a broken mint mark punch that caused this.

yes I would have to say you are correct punch repaired. they have made it stronger the punch that is thank you

For me, there is something about that zoomed in picture that's like the blue/white dress optical illusion. I had to hold my iPad at arm's length to see a normal looking S. Really odd!

To me this is simply a type 1 Proof quarter. The narrow point spine of the MM is the tale here, if it were broad and flat - then it would te the type 2

thank you all but none of those match. soo need to keep checking . if you guys find a match. would you let me know thank you in advance. none of those have the raised centers. it will turn up some one has one of these numbered some where. maybe better check CONECA

Are the centers actually raised? The image is so zoomed in that the details are kind of lost.

Brandmeister yes the centers is raised done by the mint . I have the one S that VV identifies . I will post it here so you guys can compare . to see the differences.
