Could This Possibly Be An 1859 Brass Canadian Penny?

jackson12345 Valued Member Canada 71 Posts	Posted 10/15/2023 11:42 pm Out of all of my large Canadian pennies, this 1859 always stands out as being a little unusual. The overall color appears more black as opposed to a brown/copper color. And popping out through the black are areas of yellow/gold color. I have also done the "drop" test on ceramic tile and it definetely has a different ring to it compared with an identical year coin. Of course I foresee many replies "send it out to be graded!", but some opinions to build the excitement ahead of time would be appreciated. It has been heavily heavily cleaned, almost looking in some places like a file. There looks to be a couple spots where there was lacquer or wax. All you have is PMD. Report this Post to the Staff
