I have to agree with Mr.Frog.
Trinary is a hype word primarily used on Planet ebay to describe a note with nothing else going for it. It's been found to be occasionally successful in separating hard earned money from unsuspecting buyers wallets.

As it's a $1, I would have kept it for the neat pattern, but yeah there's a lot of trinaries and they're not that rare.
(Back-of-envelope calculation: 3^8*9*8*7/6 = 6561*120 ~= 800k, so there'd be about 0.8% trinary bills. IIRC more accurate estimates give an answer closer to 0.7%, but that still means one in 150ish.)
