Hi Everyone,

I like to pay using cash to get change to find some gems. I keep finding cool stuff , but I found that I am now pulling all pre-2000 coins and keeping them for their nickel content. am I the only one doing this..? They seem to be getting more and more rare in change..

After you have collected hundreds of pounds of these coins, what will you do with them? I also pay cash for most things to search change but I only hang onto the very best condition older coins, the rest back to the bank.

I ARP them too. Give them to someone who can give them to the kids in the future. Scouts, teachers, get creative. Feels real good.

& I'm not at the hundreds of pounds stage yet but I like the idea of giving them away to kids to inspire the next generation of coin collectors! Great idea!!

I have done this while role hunting. I have a few of most dates since 1968. 1970 is a tough one. I also have some empty albums. Hopefully some kids will enjoy filling these albums in the future.

Yup. I put them aside. Have around 3-5 kg of 5, 10, and 25 cents. No plans for them at this time, but I just can't release them back into circulation. Maybe my grandkids will sort through them one day, but that's many years away.
