Found this 50 cent coin I know it's not in very good condition but still a keeper imo. Has fat letters but also some doubling on obverse. I think a Cud under HM neck? Can I get some help if anyone seeing anything else and to clarify what is happening on obvese exactly? Thank you!

Yep, cool coin. I would keep it too even though it has had a hard life. Hope to see an explanation of what is happening on the obverse.

In Australia, regardless of where on the die the damage has occurred, the resulting raised area is known as a Cud.
If the damage occurs on the rim then this is termed a rim Cud.

Thanks guys but I need more info about the doubling too pls. Is it just Strike Doubling? Also are we sure under neck is a Cud? Because see how there is a line along the bottom of HM neck from the doubling, well I'm just wondering if the blob is actually a Cud or IF it's Strike Doubling could it be something like metal being pushed to create what looks like a Cud? Look around HM head and IA in Austral'ia' also 2 in date. What's got me curious is how the doubling looks on the A is doesn't seem to look like Strike Doubling to me because it has notches and not a shelf/step like Strike Doubling
