I recently purchased several 2023 uncirculated walking liberty dollar coins. They came already encapsulated. I noticed a couple of discrepancies on 3 of the coins. The first coin has a nick in one of the sun's rays on the obverse. The two other coins each have an indentation on the reverse. Between the words "fine" and "silver" Have any of you run into these? I could not find any such errors in an internet search. Thank you for your help.

Could be a very minor Struck Through error?

These are more commonly called 'American Silver Eagles' or simply ASE.

they appear to be incuse and if so, they could be either struck through debris, or a planchet flaw. If raised then die chips.
Where did you buy them from?

You don't mention getting a COA with the coin. While not absolutely providing assurance the coin is uncirculated, a COA would give you reason to request a refund. Looks like possible PMD.

I did receive a COA with each. So you don't think that they are worth hanging on to? Other than for the silver value. Thank you

Keep them? It depends how much you paid for them, if seller accepts returns, would you need to pay for return shipping, etc. You can check ebay sold listings for current pricing. And compare shop online with the well known trusted coin dealers like SD Bullion, Hero Bullion, Bullion Exchanges, APMEX, Monument Metals, Liberty Coin to name a few. There are fake silver eagles so be careful who you buy from. If you have a local coin store near you check them out.

ASE are very popular, they can come with minor imperfections from the mint or get scratches, dings after leaving the mint. It's up to you how important it is if they are perfect or not. When/if selling, damaged coins can mean less that someone will want to pay.
