I saw this coin in an online auction. Looks sketchy to me. This particular seller has many fakes of all sorts, generally labelled "token" with starting bids of $1 (although most do not sell).
Comments welcome!

I am constantly amazed by "fakes" on coins that are so convincing.
This off-center strike seems legit to me, however after seeing the other
fakes on the sellers account, it is obviously fake.

Look to me like a pretty close match for this fake being sold on e-crater (that, to this other seller's credit, has COPY stamped into it on both sides):

The wheat stalks on the reverse are a dead giveaway.

I don't think the devices would be that sharp close to the smooth planchet areas. The lettering and devices are all too close to the edge without a sufficient field gap, and they are too well struck. It's a convincing fake, but it just doesn't look right.

Even the planchet looks wrong, and probably doesn't mass at 3.11g.

Yes good point @hon when you can buy a six pack of various fake errors--including this one--on the no-no site for $1.50 plus shipping.

Interesting. I hope they never get better than this. Some folks have probably been fooled, and that's really bad for the hobby. At least it's just $16. Relatively cheap mistake.

Man they don't even try anymore. There isn't anything on this fake that is even close to being right. Sad, but I guess if he labels them as token he'll get by.

Yep, insta-counterfeit/fake to my eyes right from the start... Just doesn't look right in all the wrong areas as previously mentioned...
