On the obverse,the E,R,T,Y,in the word "Liberty,and reverse,the word"States"looks like it's touching the rim.

Normal for a well used die.

In the future, please don't make us guess.

You did make us guess. We had no idea what you were looking at. You posted pics and asked "Is this an error on either side?"

The rim and letters mold into one another because of being worn down. Just worth face value. I know your new and welcome here, hope you will join in our conversations but if you would have said something like (why is rim and letters touching?) then we would know what to look for. No big deal. Thanks for sharing and on to the next one.

Be specific and post legible pictures. Simple enough.

Hi Emmaloue.
When you asked the question if the rim was an error.
I/we tried to check the rim. There was not much rim to check.
I didn't think to check about anything else.
Please check what Oddguy posted.
( why is the letters touching the rim?)

We're all here to help. But we need help to try to help

When I saw "rim errors" I thought you may have felt the rim was too wide, or maybe too flat, or maybe the coin was off center causing the rim to be wider on one side. I never thought to look at how close to the rim the lettering is. We don't know what you feel is a rim error, just helps everyone out to be more specific. "Why is the lettering so close to the rim?" something like that.
