Well Super Dave...I did see the history at the bottom...and I did get a nice adrenaline rush when I saw that the AU's were going for just North of 1000 bucks I think. I had no idea that this coin was a 3A1 when I bought it, just that it was the only 91-O at the shop besides a 200 dollar MS-63. Paid XF greysheet for it. I guess I figure this coin may take a run at my Donkey Tail, or the Field Break
Peace dollar as the King of my Cherry Picks thus far. Problem is...I can only get 500 bucks for it IF I SELL it...and I hate to sell my coins ! So, for now, it is a 17 dollar coin in my collection.
I am fortunate that the shop I work for rarely separates any specific
VAM's - the volume they do prohibits alot of post-buy searching . Any that are listed on the greysheet are pulled (or
RedBook varieties ) such as O/S , O/CC , 80/79's , etc. and the customer is paid more for those coins. I don't know that we have any other collectors that look for specific
VAM's - for now I am safe in my endeavor.
