@frog, I think that the op thinks that he's got a solid copper cent rather than a copper-plated zinc one.

Hi,I think so,I've been out of collecting for 10 years and was on a website(won't say which one I got in trouble before posting website names and even a temporary ban, they said I was promoting)not even looking for coins but looking at a sellers goods for stamps and was scrolling around and saw this coin and saw the "tiger stripes" on in it and that's a copper signature, not 100% but a good sign I figured out trying to tell copper or zinc coins from pictures only(website pics)so I bought it with my stamp purchases from the seller and when it came I put it on the scale and it reads out as a copper,so I posted here(I was a member here for 10 years but that was a long time ago) to see if anyone knew about thick plated zinc planchets,I read they do happen because there is no way I have luck like this.I will post the front picture tomorrow and a pic on the scale but for tonight gotta go stuff to do.

Make sure that the file names are different when uploading on the same day. The 'tiger stripes' you see on this cent is just a fingerprint.

Normal 1983 cent. Plating lines are very clear. No need here for scale.
