Interesting, because I would have thought that AE coins immersed in salt water for more than a millennium would have been much more corroded.

I am also surprised at the good state of their preservation. I'd think they would have significant corrosion. At first I wondered if they could be modern fakes placed in the water to be "discovered." I found an article about a Roman shipwreck in the harbor of Caesarea. It too had Constantine era AE coins that look nice....
