Hey coin community,

Got a 2016 D Lincoln Cent that appears to be zinc only or whatever. Is it a mint error or just chemically stripped of the copper? Any possible value?

Thanks!

To CCF! It could be toning or it has a "brassy" appearance, due to zinc contamination in the plating solution.

Also works with a silver nitrate solution

Or you can put then on the stove top.

daltons_coins,

Your coin is not missing the copper plating,IMHO. It looks toned in color. Weight would help. There are known "brass" cents but not that year:https://koinpro.tripod.com/Brass.htm

Agree. Copper can take on almost any color, especially with a little help.
