I'm not even sure what this is, but it could possibly be mistaken for a '4' over 'S'.
BTW: I see stuff all the time on coins-- it's kind of creepy!

Is-A-4-Over-S-Wheat-Penny-Rare-And-What-Causes-It?

Origin: I was just looking to see if this coin had an S/S, then thought, whoa! it's an S/S/S.. yeah right! Panning out it looked like it skidded over to the date for a quick visit before exiting. Whatever it may be, it will always be worth a penny

to the forum!

In the future, you should always start your own thread/post, less confusing.

As far as your coin, cannot tell with the current pic but looks like PMD, just damage and circulation. You can tend to see lots of things that are not actually there, known as " Pareidolia".

Ooops! Sorry, I wasn't really asking-- just commenting on how something could have possibly been mistaken for a "4 over S". I like trying to figure stuff out on my own, but if I were to post a question on a coin, you can rest assured it wouldn't be this coin (I have bigger fish to fry) and I'd include a lot more detail/pictures. Thanks so much for taking the time and looking at it. You folks are great and I appreciate your knowledge and how quickly you respond to peoples queries!

To CCF PropofGalloway! I agree that your coin is showing PMD.
