I picked up this 1829 Bust Dime today at the Quad City Coin Show: What would you grade it? The seller had it marked AU+, which seemed high to me, but went with the price tag he had on it!

I don't see a huge problem with calling it AU+. I looked at it and thought Ch XF or AU myself before scrolling down and seeing your follow-up post at the bottom. When I look at the stars on these I hope to find each one is completely divided, there does seem to be a slight patch of rub on the left breast above the drape of her dress and an old scratch in the field going from her bust pointing at the third star. I can see the claws are slightly worn on the reverse and the top arrow head. The very highest point on the wings looks a little worn.
AU+ does not mean AU55 or AU58. It does make a nice looking AU so lets give it a + sign for eye appeal and just call it AU even though the wear might be border Choice XF45.
I'd value it as an AU50. There sure aren't a lot of this condition bust dimes to be had. It's a very pretty coin. Nice snag!

Little hard to grade from the photos but, there looks to be ample mint luster still evident in the fields and a very eye-appealing tone. Looks to be original and not cleaned from what I can tell. Great pickup! AU53

Thanks for the comments. My camera and picture taking skills aren't the greatest. I graded this one AU obverse and EF reverse. EF45 would be a fair grade overall.
I've fallen for bust coins but the prices are going to keep me from buying much this year. I traded 30 common date Morgans for this one.

It does look to have an old cleaning, but not an abrasive cleaning, probably dipped. So many bust coins have been cleaned that TPG often slab them anyway. Thanks to all for the comments. This is my first bust dime and I'm happy with it.

Is there something odd going on over the right wing of the eagle? Or is it just a photo-effect?
Overall a great looking coin.
