So I had this really ratty looking 1964 Quarter and a hammer.

Here is what I did today some of you will no doubt be horrified by the results.

Looks like I need to find a way to buff it up nice and shiny to finish it.

Wow! That's cool. Is the writing still raised and how if its hammered? Can you do an entire coin... like into a tube?

How much for a tube coin... preferably 1964?

That is cool.

No really, I have a 1943-S Walking Liberty half that I bought as a ring. Looks just like this. I'll put it up soon. I also have an 1898 Barber quarter ring too.

Some people call them spoon rings but this is slightly different. a spooned ring obliterates the outside design. You basically tap the edge of the coin until its thicken d then drill out the center. some design is still visible inside the ring. The way I did this one you can still read united state inside the ring as well.
Sure did hurt my thumb after the third hit with the leather mallet..

I found a bent holed WL half in my junk silver draw.
Still needs to be polished and could do with some more shaping but turned it into a size 14 ring.

nohope, I like the rings. We have a jewelry store in the family and my little brother is a goldsmith there. I showed him your pictures and I asked him to make me one. He said "Ok, send me the coins and some money for my time". Sheesh, no family discount or nothin'. The economy has hit them hard though so I get it. Oh, sorry 'bout your thumb. Thats why I'm having HIM do it and not me.

A.
