*** Edited by Staff to Add Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

Wisdom requested. I found a double capped die error roll hunting. Not sure what to do with it? Do I grade? I want to sell. I don't know much about what I have.
I hope I have terminology correct.

It's a Dryer Coin unfortunately. PMD. It's only worth face value.

Be thankful you came here first before the big score $ affected your judgement.

This is just a damaged coin alas. Value is 1 cent if you can find anyone to accept it.

The chances of it being a double die cap are astronomical.
Compare this coin to a normal one and you should find that it is slightly smaller in diameter due to the tumbling it took in a clothes dryer.

With this amount of smeared metal , I'd be surprised if it isn't underweight. @riz can you please add the weight of this cent to the thread? Thx.

well, I looked up Dryer Coins and it is debatable but not out of the question. This coin weighs 3.08 within range. So, I will put it with a lot of strange but true coins. LOL
thank you all for your expertise.

a double die cap would require the collar to be missing during the strike along with many other problems. also, the design elements are still the proper size and not reversed as a die cap should have. Post mint damage is the only answer.
