Haven't been on in awhile, life has gotten in the way, but I do check in and lurk.
I do feel bad I didn't do this sooner, but I wanted to take a moment to give thanks to a member on this forum who wishes to remain anonymous for their generous gift a couple months ago that I was able to present to the recipient Veteran's Day Weekend. Better late than never.
When the US Mint released the US Navy Silver Medal in July of this year. I had mentioned on this forum I was planning to buy one to present to my aunt as a gift as she is a 20+ year Navy veteran, but the medals were on backorder at the time.
A fellow member on here reached out to me and not only offered to send me a medal they had already received, they also did not charge me for the medal as they wanted to offer it as a gesture to thank my aunt for her service.
I am very grateful to this individual for their act of generosity and have already privately thanked this member, but also wanted to say thank you on here. Normally you see some good generosity during the Secret Santa, but this was a great gesture out of left field.
My mother and I have since presented the medal to my aunt during Veterans Day week as a belated birthday gift and to thank her for her service. She was very touched by the medal and plans to add it to her coin collection, but will also have it on display with her Navy memorabilia.
Again, want to thank this member on behalf of myself and my family.
