That our friend and fabulous contributor commems was awarded the honorary title CCF Master Historian of USA Commemorative Coins. With 20/20 hindsight the title actually falls short of commems broad contributions which also include fabulous research and writing on Canadian commemoratives, Medals, Exonomia, and Modern Coins. You can read the thread that awarded this honor on 11/19/2017: http://goccf.com/t/300446Interesting that within this thread an idea was put forth by member SA4H to 'gather together all of commems threads and link them to one location' .... which of course has led us to todays commems collection site within the CCF. Speaking for myself - I am deeply appreciative of all the time, research and scholarship that @commems continues to share with us. Whatever the future may hold @commems you have created a legacy of numismatic scholarship that will survive all of us and benefit future generations. Thank you for all that you do for all of us.

As always, I very much appreciate the support and encouragement. I approach the hobby from a perspective of "remember history" and this drives what/how I share information about my collection. There are so many "stories" out there! I know I will never get to all of them, but I try to do a decent job with the ones I do cover. History lessons aren't everyone's "sweet spot" but they are the tool I find most comfortable to use to share. Happy Collecting!

Commens' contributions have greatly increased my interest in and appreciation for commemoratives. Also, every article sends me to the web to research various historical aspects of the topic.

@commems has set the standard for weaving history with coins and medals. Gives us all something to shoot for. Thanks for sharing your "homework" with the rest of us and I hope you do so for many years to come.

I see that @commems is now tagged with his honorary CCF title. Hooray! Thanks to whoever in the Moderator world made this happen. It gives commems a unique title at the CCF, commensurate IMO with his unique contributions.

I agree, nickelsearcher. The research and outstanding contributions by commems has been so helpful in increasing my own knowledge and understanding of an area of collecting that is dear to my heart!

I'm not sure exactly when the title change was made - I noticed it on Sunday - but I am very appreciative.

Indeed @commems - I am thrilled to see your CCF title tagged to your threads going forward. I ask that you rejoice in knowing that you have long ago earned the respect, awe and appreciation from so many of us. Maybe next I'll be asking about a CCF Hall-of-Fame.
