1886 Type 2 Indian Head Cent / IHC Possibly Error

I know it's type 2 what I ha e researched and know it's about 3 denticals from the A in America to the 6 and 6 denticals on the type to but on this coin it has about 8/9 denticals could it be a error coin Report this Post to the Staff

lawest Pillar of the Community United States 1998 Posts	Posted 11/19/2023 10:06 am Yes, appears to be type 2. There were several type 2 obverse dies used and the date was hand punched on each die. Because of this the date position is different on each type 2 die. so the number of denticals between the 6 of the date and the second A in AMERICA will also be different on each die. Your coin is not an error, but it is a type 2! Nice find. Report this Post to the Staff
