Looking for opinions on whether this 1858 LL Flying Eagle cent is the Snow 1 overdate.

It has the broken wing tip, and I can see the raised triangle shape above the 1st eight. Very hard in getting the photo to show, but easier with a loupe in the correct light.

Nothing jumps out at me for the flag of the "7" above the 2nd "8".

What do you guys think? Thanks! RK

Gee, it is hard to tell. If it is the overdate it would be the weak variety. Compare your coin to the weak variety listed on PCGS site. I'm not seeing the last 8 being as weak as it should be nor the doubling of the first 1 and 8.

I see your point Mister T, this coin also has a die break running from the lower bottom center right thru the date.

I have Cherry Pickers Guide and it says they also come with a weakness on the upper right area of the wreath on the reverse. No seeing it on this coin even though I did not post a pic of the reverse.

I'm surprised that you haven't had more comments to help you so I figure I will post here to bump your post so hopefully it will get more exposure.

I like this variety but don't have an example.

I don't believe you have the 8/7 variety. That marker over the 8 isn't in the correct position on your coin.
From PCGS: https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin...-strong/2022

When looking at the images at the PCGS link, the dot appears to line up directly in line with the center of the ovals and is slightly closer to the 8 than the eagle.

I also don't see a die crack going from the rim to the base of the 1 of date on any PCGS auction images.

Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Thanks for the help guys

I have concluded it is not the Snow1 with your help. Tossed it up on ebay, less the pic of the triangular mark above the 8.

Maybe someone could use it, still some interesting points of interest on the coin.
