I have a 2018 penny no mint mark but I do have the letter D in Lincoln's ear. Does anyone know if this is worth anything and if so should how much about? Also should I have it appraised before selling it ? Thanks
Trying to figure out how to upload the photo

@nda, first welcome to CCF. Second, that looks like a hit on Abe's ear to me, so damage rather than a mint error.

Thank you for the warm welcome :) I'm not sure my picture is doing it any justice whatsoever. lol. Even without a magnify glass the naked eye can see capital D sideways in the edge of his ear. Almost like he's wearing a hoop earring lol. I will try and get better shots. I know that it's a philly mint ( possibly) but could it have been a Denver mint and they missed their mark? Sorry for the questions

I'm seeing what appears to be a circulation hit/ding. Beware Pareidolia.

At first glance it looks like a D, and the thought of a dropped letter crossed my mind. After blowing it up and looking closer, the only D that could be dripped is the D in God, and that is ruled out because it's much bigger than the mark on the ear. It would be impossible for the mint to "miss their mark" by placing the D in that area. The mint mark is placed when the die is manufactured, and I'm sure that just would not happen. It's a hit that resembles a D.

To CCF! Looks like a hit to the ear and Pareidolia.
