From these photos I can't tell if this is a quarter or a half dollar.

Regardless, it is very much damaged and heavily worn. Value is tied to the silver content and not the coin.

If you like slabs because you like slabs, then go for it. Otherwise why pad the pockets of the TPGs instead of using the money yourself towards other coins? You would most likely be quite a bit in the hole as to value vs. what you spend.
