I'm excited about the mint reviving the 1794 flowing hair design in 2024 on new mint products. I'm a bit confused with different reports on what products they will be used on. The mint sight indicates a silver medal and $100 gold coin but then I read an article that indicated the mint changed to a different program. Can anyone clarify this? It's my favorite coin design.

I thought it was going to be on the Liberty Commemorative coins.

I would like to see a half dollar and dollar flowing hair program similar to the Morgan/peace dollar offerings.

There's also an article on Coin News with insight and the thoughts of the advisory panel. Not surprising, they're somewhat in agreement with you CoinFrog.

I am not excited to see these classic designs being used again.
It''s time IMO for some modern artists to create new work - not just recycle these old designs.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

The naive designs of our early coins perfectly echoed the primitive machinery that produced them. They look comically out of place when replicated with modern technology. I can only roll my eyes at the Dan Carr example.

It looks like I will not have to stress over acquiring the ones I want. Release days should be easy.

I am conflicted about the Flowing Hair design. On one hand I agree with Coinfrog that the design should be preserved for posterity and retired. On the other hand I love the early designs and will likely never be able to afford a genuine example unless I win a lottery. I don't care for the Carr piece but the drawings of the Mint Medal look desirable. Guess I'll just wait to see what the mint comes up with before I make a decision.

I'm looking forward to them but I'm sure they will look too modern for my taste. For example I like the proof Morgan and Piece dollars but they have a modern etched look that I think is inferior to the struck coins of yesterday. I'm fortunate to own a "details" 1795 dollar in fine. I'm cautiously optimistic I'll like the new version.
