Greetings all,
I've recently tried to find information on this medal,
Box is similar to some us mint issues, but I can't even find a photo of this issue despite several searches.
Specs are shown on certificate.
Interested in where it was struck and mintage,
Thanks for looking,
Willard.

I'm also not finding much on the interwebs, although here is a link to a similarly designed piece in gold:

It seems to me that 1987 would be a reasonable date, although who knows if they were made in subsequent years.

Any chance there is anything stamped along the edge of this silver round? Also, can you please add a pic of the outside of the box? It is a long shot, but that might help narrow down the issuer as well. Thx.

I believe these were struck by Johnson Matthey Mint.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Right on, Hondo. A smaller sibling from the same series(?) is for sale on ebay for $20, here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204296356757
Identical reverse, identical (but for measurements) "Proof of Authenticity."

As stated, it's similar to some us mint packaging
BTW, the piece has NO edge marking, and it's not listed on us mint commemorate medals.
Thanks again &

Hondo and classic coin, I found a search result for the small variety with identical certificate, but when I click it, it brings me to a different listing. So apparently Johnson Mathey it is, but a lot harder to find than the small version. (Also no jm initials on the side as in description of this listing)
Box looks to be a match also.
Thanks again all, any more info is appreciated & y
