That's a die crack, not officially an error coin.

There appear to be many dies that have a crack in that area. People seem to favor the ones where the crack reaches from the horse's mouth to the coin rim.

It is the "Spitting Horse". It was caused by a Die Crack, which is just a die event.

Yes, that is a nice die crack (spitting horse) Folks that sell coins like this ,like to name the so, called 'error' in order to make them more 'marketable'

Agree, just a die crack that I hope no one pays a premium for, but I doubt it.

For me seem to be an scratch not a die crack. In any circumstances not an Error.
