Hi all. What's going on here. There is a small bar coming out of the 4. Also a minor RPM.

Thanks, MIke

I'd say the "bar" on the 4 is a result of a small die chip. I find the notch at the top of the mintmark to be far more interesting. Is that the only doubling on the obverse? ~ Jim

I disagree with the die chip,i think it's a die gouge,as for the possible RPM,i do see a line at the top left serif, let's wait for the pros to answer.

I don't see any other doubling on the obverse. I can take a better look and post a pic later. As for the mint mark it is an RPM, I was more interested with the bar. I have found a couple other dates with a similar bar on liberty and the date that were listed as DDO's on Coppercoins. It just seemed different.

It is a RPM. I don't see a match for it on copper coins. On the chip/die dot I can see die flow running through it so it has been there a while on the die. Might be a new listing. The dot/chip being a unique marker? You might check with Bob Piazza and see if he has seen this one before.

, specifically because I learned from either Coop, Coppercoins, or Foundinrolls that a notched serif such as that one can only be explained by a repunching of the mint mark. It's one of those classic diagnostics found on many Lincoln rpms.
