here is a 1986P Lincoln. what is happening with the first "T", in TRUST. there is extra metal the length of the letter along the left side of the T. any extra collector/ value. opinions are appreciated. thanks.

It is hard for me to make a call on this one. If you can clean up the scan a little that may help. We can wait to see what others think as well. If I had to guess I would say chipped die maybe. Value?, well that is definitely something we will wait for others to ring in on there.

im using a scanner for now. the digital camera I have hasent given me any useable results - yet. I have actually had some much better scans, in previous posts, but I havent been able to duplicate that recently.

I use a scanner for full images of larger coins. I set the DPI higher to get a better image.

I cover the coin with dark material to keep glare down while scanning. It helps and my scanner automatically crops it to the size of the dark material.
